This brief 1938 BSA catalogue features three models fitted with derailleurs. In all three cases the chosen derailleur is a 3-speed Cyclo Standard - a fine device. However it is slightly surprising that the 1938 Cyclo Oppy does not put in an appearance. Sir Hubert Opperman was BSA's star rider and a fervent advocate of Cyclo derailleurs - and the Cyclo Oppy was named in his honour.

It is also worth noting that BSA's own 4-Star derailleur is absent - confirming that it did not appear until immediately after the Second World War.
