This, by now traditional, report on the Paris Salon of 1932, refers to Cyclo and Chemineau as the old established derailleur brands. The new kids on the block in this time were:

• Oscar Egg’s Super Champion.
• Lucien Juy’s Simplex.
• Centrix derailleurs that were designed by Huret (see French patent # 729,910). I also believe that, in the early 1930s Alcyon fitted these Centrix derailleurs, and that Sylvère Maes possibly used one to win the Paris-Roubaix in 1933.

It’s even possible that the 1932 Paris Salon was the first time that products from Chemineau, Cyclo, Huret, Simplex and Super Champion were all seen together. These five brands dominate the long and illustrious history of the French derailleur industry.
