Romet Tornado

Romet Tornado derailleur main image

The design of the Romet Tornado combines the geometry of a Shimano Skylark with the quirky use of plastics that was popular in Eastern Europe (see the Juka (2nd style) and Favorit Special).

The branding consists of ‘Tornado’ on the plastic insert on the outer parallelogram plate, ‘Romet’ and ‘Poland’ around the Allen bolt on the front knuckle and ‘Romet PT-50’ on the outer pulley cage plate.

The pulleys wheels on this example are Shimano items that have been cut down by hand - very strange - as they still have 10 teeth.
