‘Bikecology’ is an early popularisation of ‘ecology’ - you were supposed to read your copy of ‘The Limits to Growth’, join Friends of the Earth - and buy a Shimano Crane GS. Personally, I read the book, joined the group - but lacked the cash for the derailleur. Two out of three is not too shabby.

The claim that Dura-Ace (presumably in the form of the Crane GS) is the most popular 10-speed system in America is, at the very least, interesting.
