This patent describes Angelo Boeris rod derailleur system. Tullio Campagnolo patented his Campagnolo Corsa rod derailler system in Itasly in 1943. Angelo Boeris' similar, but tidier, system was patented in 1946 (or possibly 1945).

There are photos on the internet of a later system which also incoporates a front derailleur.
