Tintin magazine 1966? - Huret Advert (3rd series no.3) main image

The first ever French satellite, inevitably christened 'Astérix', was launched in November 1965. The second, more prosaically named 'FR-1', was launched in December 1965. The drawing here is more similar to the FR-1. The hype surrounding these two launches is celebrated in this fine comic strip.

The text might read: "It is not true that interplanery rockets are equipped with 'Allvit' derailleurs. However it is true that these derailleurs are exported worldwide". It would be churlish to note that satellites are not really 'interplanetary' but hey.

And while we are picking nits, the text refers to the Huret Allvit but the image appears to be of a Huret Luxe Touring (2100T).
