This is the earliest article that I have that was authored by Paul de Vivie. Aside from its author, it has nothing to do with derailleurs - it considers how you should set up your position on a bicycle. Perhaps it’s not pure science, but it is straight-forward, thoughtful, practical, sceptical and logical.

Unusually for Paul de Vivie’s articles in the T.C.F. Revue Mensuelle it is signed using his pen name, ‘Velocio’.
