This is the earliest Super Champion leaflet that I own, dating from February 1935. It is a plain and simple document and noticeably lacking in photos of famous cyclists or classic races.
The derailleur range includes three models:
- The Super Champion Standard, a steel fork type, three speed derailleur with a total capacity which may be 8 teeth.
- The Super Champion Luxe, an aluminium (Duralumin) fork type, three speed derailleur also with a total capacity which may be 8 teeth.
- The new Super Champion Touriste, a fork type, four speed derailleur with a total capacity of 12 teeth. Curiously the leaflet does not seem to specify the material or price of the Touriste.
The illustration of the Super Champion Touriste shows a chain tensioning arm attached to the chainstay (not to the downtube as on later models).
