This derailleur is extremely similar to a 1994, 8-speed, Sachs New Success, but rebranded as a 'Stronglight Speedlight'. However the 2001 Stronglight catalogue clearly indicates that the Speedlight is a 9-speed model - so perhaps something has been lightly tweaked.

Like all Sachs New Successes it is a tidy peice of work, if a little heavy and a few years behind its competition.
