DISRAELI DOCUMENTS
This 1961 Triplex design for a derailleur is lovably bonkers.
The cable clamp appears to be mounted on a pivoting lever. This lever has a roller on the end of it that acts on the inside of the inner parallelogram plate. The adjustment screws act on this lever and are placed on the inner parallelogram plate, right next to the spokes - possibly the least accessible place on the whole derailleur, or even on the whole bicycle.
But this is not all. The p-pivot has an inner, compression-plus-tension, spring (taken from a chain-pull derailleur), and an outer, protective, volute spring (also taken from a chain-pull derailleur). But, unlike a chain-pull derailleur, there is no sideways movement at this pivot.
It's all very original and innovative in an utterly misguided and purposeless way.
