DISRAELI GEARS
The Shimano Dura-Ace (9070) was the first Di2 derailleur that I almost wanted. It was light, precise, reliable, 11-speed and had a load of features that mechanical systems could never match. Shimano even claimed that one configuration of the Dura-Ace (9070) groupset was lighter the equivalent mechanical Dura-Ace (9000) groupset. If, while strolling down a street in 2013, I had found a briefcase neatly packed with $100 notes, I may, just, have bought one.
But even given all this enthusiasm, I can't be polite about the aesthetics. The finishes are pleasant, but the form is dumpy and there is still a whole host of cams and levers hanging, like entrails, out of the bottom.
