This strange and wonderful item appears to be a lottery ticket given away with Shimano 3-speed hubs.

The prize seems to be one of 1,000 National vacuum cleaners. Entrants have a mind-boggling 1 in 10 chance of winning. The ticket is valid until the end of December 1957.

It came to me stuck in the pages of the instructions for an early Shimano 333 derailleur. Which is not quite a 3-speed hub gear - but hey-ho.
