DISRAELI GEARS

Optima

Optima derailleur main image

This Optima is a positively deluxe copy of the 1949 Huret Competition, beautifully finished and branded - not exactly what you would normally associate with the DDR. The edges of the main plate have all been ground after stamping and the nuts and bolt heads are all chamfered correctly etc. This is possibly the best constructed and finished pull-chain derailleur that I have ever seen.

The dimensions are also positively racy, with the pivot about 65mm from the hub axle centre.
