Marcel Kint, Belgian, 1914 - 2002

Marcel Kint was the last of four Belgians to win the World Road Race Championships in the 1930s. His victory, in 1938, followed Karel Kaers, Jean Aerts and Eloi Muelenberg in 1934, 1935 and 1937 respectively.

Marcel Kint was a specialist in one day classics, and, as he approached his 25th birthday, his career was just peaking when the Second World War cut it short. When the war ended he was in his thirties and he never really returned to winning form.

This photo shows him winning the final stage of the 1939 Tour de France, one of two flat stages that he won that year.

Marcel Kint used Super Champion derailleurs in the 1938 World Championship Road Race.
