This is a spectacularly bad scan of a laughably badly produced advert celebrating Hugo Koblet's participation in the 1951 Tour de France. You can just about see that it shows a Campagnolo Gran Sport derailleur with an extravagantly looped pulley cage.

Note also that Campagnolo refers to the Gran Sport as a 'dérailleur arriere'. Campagnolo referred to its earlier, rod-type, gears systems as 'changements de vitesses'.

This advert was published on 23rd July 1951. Hugo Koblet won the race on the 29th of July.
