The first Championnat de la Polymultipliée was held at Chanteloup-les-Vignes, 30-odd kilometres north-west of Paris, on 6/4/13. It was primarily designed to test the effectiveness and reliability of gear systems.

The 64 entries to the inaugural Championnat de la Polymultipliée included a mere 6 riders using derailleur systems:

• Three Audouards
• One Boizot Tri-Direct
• One Matocq
• One Prével d’Arlay

The results were published in L'Auto on the 7th of April.
