DISRAELI TRIVIA
The Ladyface Ale Companie is a microbrewery, alehouse and brasserie in Agoura Hills, California, USA. It takes its name from Ladyface Mountain - a hill with a profile that is - you guessed it - supposed to resemble a woman’s face. The business was founded in 2009 by Cyrena Nouzille and David Griffiths, and first produced its distinctive Dérailleur Bière de Garde in 2010 to celebrate the Amgen Tour of California visiting the area.
Dérailleur Bière de Garde is described as follows:
“DÉRAILLEUR ABV 8% IBU 28... is a special bière-de-garde (“beer for keeping”), brewed to celebrate the global passion for cycling. Named after a bicycle’s gear-changing mechanism, this ale is malty, smooth with tart apple and pear notes that come from aging in French Sauvignon Blanc barrels from Malibu’s Semler Vineyards. This... deep golden ale is balanced with a noticeable earthy hop character.”
In addition to this finely named beer, the Ladyface Ale Companie also includes cycling shirts amongst its corporate merchandising - a little precious, perhaps, but impressive nonetheless.
