This advert comes from a supplement to the August/September 1985 edition of La Bicicletta. The supplement celebrated the 1985 World Championships that were held in the Veneto region of Italy. This is home territory for Campagnolo and Gipiemme, and not-so-far-from-home-territory for Galli and Ofmega.
The advert celebrates the reintroduction of the Simplex brand to Italy with distribution across the nation by Galli. The strap line under the picture of Fausto Coppi reads:
"Fausto Coppi was one of the first admirers of the derailleur invented by Lucien Juy, founder of the Transalpine concern."
The reference to transalpine is a bit odd - does it refer to France?
