This is the first of Charles Gautherot's derailleur patents. It covers a fork-type derailleur called 'Le Super-Leader'.

Charles Gautherot's co-inventer was Lazare Venot, an established racing cyclist who rode for Terrot in 1929 and competed in the Touriste/Routier class of the Tour de France in 1931 and 1932 using Simplex derailleurs.
