This, rather interesting, derailleur is a Falcon copy of a mid-1980s Shimano Light Action SGS model. I have guessed that it dates from around 1990. The Shimano originals were exceptionally fine, mid-range, derailleurs that were tough, reliable and smooth to operate. I guess that this lowly Falcon facsimile might well have many of the same virtues.
