Ercole Baldini, Italian, 1933 -

Ercole Baldini, riding for Legnano, was the World Road Race Champion in 1958, and also won the Giro d'Italia that year.

I believe that Ercole Baldini used a Campagnolo Gran Sport for these heroic feats.

This postcard shows an elderly, but well preserved, Ercole Baldini being inducted into the Giro d'Italia Hall of Fame in 2016. It's good to have some photos of older people on this site - life can't all be a testament to youth.
