The Wylen Company Limited, of Taipei, was one of the earlier Taiwanese bicycle manufacturers that I became aware of - possibly in the early 1980s. I vaguely remember Wylen ten-speeds as being rather long in the wheelbase, rather heavy, and featuring Taiwanese components that I regarded, at the time, as being rather alien. But they looked well painted and reasonably competent. I, patronisingly, considered them to be crushingly dull and utterly irrelevant.
Little did I know that Taiwan would take over the bicycle world - I now wish that I had paid them more attention!
