Winning Magazine (more properly called 'WinnIng Bicycle Racing Illustrated') was a magazine focussed on cycle racing that was published from 1983 to 1998. It is slightly difficult to pin down, but some notions might be:
- It was founded by Jean-Claude Garot, a Belgian journalist and publisher - so it was, arguably, a Belgian magazine.
- However, it was first launched, in the English language, in the US - so many people regarded it as an American magazine.
- It was also later launched in the UK, with a UK based editorial staff - so he UK edition was regarded by British people as being a UK magazine. However the so-called 'UK edition' was actually printed in Belgium.
- Possibly at the same time as the UK launch, it was also finally launched in Belgium and France as a French language magazine called 'Ciclisme International'.
All the complexity of the internet - but printed on paper.
