Jacques-Gustave Schulz manufactured his eponymous bicycles in La Garenne-Colombes, Paris, France in the 1930s.

He used a distinctive single tube frame design for comfort, coupled with his own Funiculo derailleur which could handle the 40T rear sprocket - for phenomenal hill climbing gears. Weird but true.
