Rob van der Plas is a serial author and publisher of bicycle related books. He trained as a mechanical engineer, and worked at Chevron in California at around the same time as Frank Berto. Sometime around 1975 he began writing about cycling.

He is the owner of Van der Plas Publications/Cycle Publishing an organisation that publishes a great many books relating to cycling.
