I believe that this is a flyer handed out at a French trade show in 1949. It shows that:
- The Chaluret Derailleur 93 was, apparently, the only such device that automatically tensioned the chain. I am not entirely sure what this means - but chain tension was an obsession of the time.
- Chaluret tub cement had been used to set a mere 53 world records and win a trifling 12 World Championships.
- Chaluret was the brand of Chalumeau & Menneret of St-Ouen and Chitenay.
‘Messieurs les grossistes’ sound good - send for Mr. Creosote.
