Campagnolo Spare Parts Catalogue - 1995 Product Range

Campagnolo Spare Parts Catalogue - 1995 Product Range front cover main image

For model year 1995:

  • Every derailleur except Record OR was restyled.
  • Stratos was replaced by Mirage and Avanti. Stratos only lasted for one model year.
  • Long cage models were added in Athena (called Racing Triple), Veloce and Mirage.
  • Record OR was only available in the mid-cage-length. It's possible that both the long-cage and short-cage versions had sold out and Campagnolo did not want to manufacture any more.

I think that the derailleur range was:

Road 8-speed

  • Campagnolo Record (RD-31RE)*
  • Campagnolo Chorus (RD-31CH)*
  • Campagnolo Athena (RD-31AT)*
  • Campagnolo Racing Triple (RD-01RA3)*
  • Campagnolo Veloce (RD-21VL)*
  • Campagnolo Veloce Triple (RD-03VL)*
  • Campagnolo Mirage (RD-01MI)*
  • Campagnolo Mirage Triple (RD-03MI)*
  • Campagnolo Avanti (RD-01AV)*

Mountain bike 8-speed

  • Campagnolo Record OR (RD-22OR)

* New for model year 1995

From some time around 1992 the part numbers were made up as follows:

  • 'RD' for 'rear derailleur' - which was not particularly Italian.
  • A dash for good measure
  • A number to indicate the 'generation' of the model. So, for example, generation '2' replaced generation '1', etc...
  • A number to indicate the cage length. So '1' indicated short, '2' indicated medium and '3' indicated long. etc...
  • Two letters that indicated the model/group name. So, for example, 'RE' meant Record.

From 1995 this plan was disturbed by the Racing Triple, which had a cage length digit of '1', and then a '3' at the end. Weird or what?

These images come from a slightly tacky pdf downloaded from the Campagnolo web site some years ago. The rear derailleurs are featured from page 18 to page 25.
