Campagnolo Spare Parts Catalogue - 1993 Product Range

Campagnolo Spare Parts Catalogue - 1993 Product Range front cover main image

For model year 1993 Campagnolo made the following changes to their range:

  • Record, Chorus and Athena got a makeover.
  • Veloce was introduced as a new low-end road group.
  • Record OR and Icarus got a makeover.
  • Centaur also got a makeover, but the short cage Centaur was discontinued. Centaur appeared to have an aluminium outer pulley cage plate.

So I think that the rear derailleur range might have gone as follows:

Road 8-speed

  • Campagnolo Record (RD-11RE)*
  • Campagnolo Chorus (RD-11CH)*
  • Campagnolo Athena (RD-11AT)*
  • Campagnolo Veloce (RD-01VL)*

Mountain bike 8-speed

  • Campagnolo Record OR (RD-11OR)*
  • Campagnolo Record OR (RD-12OR)*
  • Campagnolo Record OR (RD-13OR)*
  • Campagnolo Icarus (RD-11IC)*
  • Campagnolo Icarus (RD-12IC)*
  • Campagnolo Icarus (RD-13IC)*
  • Campagnolo Centaur (RD-12CE)*
  • Campagnolo Centaur (RD-13CE)*

*New models first appearing in this catalogue

From some time around 1992 the part numbers were made up as follows:

  • 'RD' for 'rear derailleur' - which was not particularly Italian.
  • A dash for good measure
  • A number to indicate the 'generation' of the model. So, for example, generation '2' replaced generation '1', etc...
  • A number to indicate the cage length. So '1' indicated short, '2' indicated medium and '3' indicated long. etc...
  • Two letters that indicated the model/group name. So, for example, 'RE' meant Record.

In this catalogue the rear derailleurs are featured from page 26 to page 32.
