These, rather furry, scans show the Benato derailleur in all its magnificence.

In particular they show that there is a version with its 'flippers' below the chainstay - so that you change gear while pedalling forwards. Or, alternatively, a version with the 'flippers' above the chainstay - so that you change gear while back-pedalling. So many options!
