Not content with having ‘L’Impertinente’ (‘the cheeky girl’) sprint up the Tourmalet and a handful of Alpine passes, Francisco Tamagno now has her riding her Terrot Lévocyclette so fast that careering motor cars and speeding aeroplanes cannot catch her. Oh là là!
The Lévocyclette used a lever drive system with 10 notches on the levers to give 10 different gear ratios. Gear changing was controlled by a twist grip.
The plane looks to my unschooled eye like a Wright Brothers design - rather than one of the French models of the period - but I am sure an aviation aficionado will quickly correct me!
