Another article penned by Paul de Vivie. This time he reviews the many interesting bikes (including a number of derailleur equipped models) presented at the bicycle shows in the winter of 1910/11. While doing this he refers to many of the technical developments of the previous decade and a half.

A particular pearl of information for the derailleur geek is that, in a foot note, he provides the number of Jean Loubeyre’s French patent for La Polyceler. This enabled me to request a copy of this seminal document from the French patent office.
