For 1969 Sears improved the Screamer by making the handlebars marginally less ludicrous (“These handlebars look like they fly. You do when you grab hold and go!” - probably straight over the handlebars, face planting on the tarmac). They also introduced a mysterious second lever beside the gear lever - and described it as a ‘drag control’ - its function eludes me.
