The teenage daughter of a friend of mine once described how she could not have imagined anything more boring than the idea of spending a wet afternoon in the Lake District looking at a display of pencils in the Cumberland Pencil Museum in Keswick - until she found herself, on a wet afternoon, in the Lake District, in the Cumberland Pencil Museum in Keswick, looking at a display of the BOXES that the pencils were sold in. This was, like, so perfectly boring. Presumably she had to go straight onto Facebook to tell all her many friends just how boring it was.
As an admirer of the Cumberland Pencil Museum, and as a homage to the studied boredom of teenage girls everywhere, I like to include as many items like this oily plastic bag as possible.
