Strictly speaking, the Villiers Two-speed is not a derailleur, because no chain gets derailled. Instead, as Frank Berto explains:

“When the cable was pulled, a small driving chain was engaged to override the rear sprocket and produce a higher gear.”

The Villiers Two-speed may not be a true derailleur, but it is truly mad enough to earn its place on this web site.
