Publisher: Shimano

Country: Japan

Date: June 1984

Derailleur brands: Shimano

Derailleurs: too numerous to mention - see individual pages

Unlike my 1982 Shimano Catalogue, this 1984 version is almost utilitarian in its rational simplicity. Gone are the dozens of pages about Shimano’s many and various design concepts. Even photos of silver-clad cyclists in wind tunnels are mercifully rare.

Instead products are arranged by product type, pages have a refreshing amount of white space on them, and, best of all, the dominant design language is that of the beautiful New 600 EX groupset.

On pages showing derailleurs you can click within the dotted rectangle to see a larger image.
