Publisher: Romet

Country: Poland

Date: 1971

Derailleur brands: Romet, ZZR

Derailleurs: ZZR (1st style)

By 1971 Romet has co-opted the cover design (and much of the content) of the ZZR instruction booklets of 1964 and 1965.

In terms of derailleurs the situation has moved on from the earlier booklets:

  1. The action starts on page 15 and carries on to page 22.

  2. The derailleur shown is the ZZR (1st style) a double cable, pull-chain, model.

This is all rather strange. What were Romet and/or ZZR doing introducing a copy of the 1951 Simplex Juy-51 in 1971? Even behind the Iron Curtain, both Kharkov and Favorit had long been using parallelogram derailleur designs by this date. Why were the Poles still using a pull-chain design?
