Renak (2nd style)

Renak derailleur (2nd style) main image

This is a fairly faithful copy of the 1949 Huret Competition, ideal for your rather natty Diamant racer with thin, thin forks and even thinner seat stays. The dimensions are moderately racy, with the pivot about 70mm from the hub axle centre.

The Huret Competition (with only one pivot) was the strongest pull chain derailleur of its time and this is a strong, well made copy, fully in tune with good utilitarian socialist values.

Legend has it that Diamant was fitting these Renak pull-chain derailleurs into the 1970’s
