In the 1980s Kharkov seemed to have specialised in parodying the glamour-obsessed West by producing a series of anti-glamour pocket sized calendars. I can only guess that the highly skilled photographer was the factory manager’s ‘artistic’ nephew expressing himself with his trusty Zenit E. And as for the glamorous models - perhaps they were carefully chosen from the dinner queue at the factory canteen using criteria that can only be the subject of wild speculation.

Long grass also seems to have been an important ingredient of the brand image.
