This chapter on variable gearing is strangely off the pace given its date of 1960. There is no mention of parallelogram derailleur designs (the Campagnolo Gran Sport had been dominating European racing since 1952) and only Simplex of all the European manufacturers warrants a mention - and then only for the Juy-59. The Resilion Crimson Star is referred to as the Resilion Gruison Star - someone needs clearer hand writing and better proof reading.


At least it explains that ‘derailleur’ should be pronounced ‘de-ray-er’ but thought of as working as a ‘de-rail-er’.
