This advert appeared in a comic featuring the hilarious antics of the Little Stooges.

For 1972 the Vista Esquire seems to have been specced with what looks like a Huret Allvit gear paired with gear levers described as ‘SumTour’. This almost qualifies as the earliest US mention of SunTour that I am aware of.
