ROTOR Componentes Tecnologicos SL was established in 1996 by Pablo Carrasco and Ignacio Estell├ęs, in Ajalvir, near Madrid, Spain. Pablo Carrasco had, however taken out his first patents for bicycle transmissions in 1994. ROTOR products are actually manufactured by EDR Systems SA, a CNC machining specialist, headed up by Enrique Del Rey, and also based in Ajalvir.

I had been aware of ROTOR as a brand of impressively finished chainrings and power measuring cranks for sometime. But at Eurobike in 2015 I saw their prototype ROTOR Uno hydraulic derailleur - and very pretty it was too.
