If you wanted to win the 1962 Milk Race you obviously needed to specify the cream of derailleur gears (although the rider pictured is clearly on a track bike).

For the youngsters amongst you, those weird shaped silhouettes are of objects we used to call ‘Milk Bottles’. They didn’t have the ruthless efficiency of a Tetra Pak, but they did have shape, heft and a certain distinctive charm.
